One of the top selling Redboxes in Sonifex' range of analogue and digital audio interfaces is the RB-HD6 Headphone Distribution Amplifier. Although already a popular product, recent customer requests and feedback has led Sonifex to re-vamp the product in order to improve its use and versatility. The unit now has the capability for the outputs to appear simultaneously on the front and rear panels of the unit by moving internal jumper switches. This means that the insert inputs can also be parallel outputs. Additionally, the master volume control on the front panel can be disabled for fixed level installations. The move has already led to an advance order for 14 of the new units for GWR Bristol, which will be ready for shipping in March 2001.
Tim Lowther, Project Engineer for GWR, said "The key reasons that we opted for them are the fact that it now has outlets on the front & rear and that the master volume control can be bypassed...and its a nice colour too! They fit nicely with the RB-DA6 (analogue DA) , RB-DDA6A (AES/EBU DA) and RB-BL2 balanced to unbalanced converter which we are also using widely within the project."
Managing Director Marcus Brooke commented "The changes that we've made to the headphone amplifier are an example of how we try and listen to our customers' needs and alter our products to reflect them. GWR contacted us at the SBES show and asked about the potential alteration, which we had done by March 2001."
