After many years as the standard for telephone interfaces in UK and European radio and TV stations, the Sonifex HY-02 automatic telephone hybrid has finally been superceded by a new version, the HY-03. The HY-03 is an excellent value, high quality analogue telephone hybrid, with a lower price and greater feature-set than the HY-02.
Managing Director of Sonifex Marcus Brooke commented “The HY-02 has been around for many years and although a hugely popular product, it was time for a redesign. The new HY-03 has more features, higher quality, all the usual European approvals and most importantly, a lower price.”
The HY-03 can be used for any application where a clean telephone signal is required and the line is not subject to delay. This includes most general telephony applications, radio and TV station call-ins, entertainment venues, audio conferencing and dealing floors.
Some of the features of the HY-03 include fully automatic operation adapting to varying line conditions with automatic signal limiting, local and remote line hold switching, integrated auto-answer after a pre-determined number of rings, a balanced mic/line input, low impedance balanced output with output gain adjustment, line limiter, bandpass filter and output noise gate with preset threshold providing low distortion crystal clear audio.
Another nice feature is the ability of the output to be a mix of the caller and mic/line input signals for situations where you want to record both sides of the telephone conversation. The HY-03 is shipping in late November 2002.
