On stand number 8.561, Sonifex are showing the DHY-03 DSP based digital telephone hybrid. A redesign of the current DHY-02 product, the DHY-03 offers possibly the best performance from an analogue telephone line possible using a hybrid with 75dB typical line balance rejection.
Chris Stills, Technical Director at Sonifex Ltd commented: ”We’ve been working hard on creating new DSP algorithms to improve the sound quality and after 3 years of work, we’ve finally found what we believe to be the best solution available. We’ve also added a number of features to make the hybrid automatically usable anywhere in the world, on any analogue phone line”.
The DHY-03’s feature-set includes universal line compatibility, input and output gain adjustment, input and output metering, conferencing, RS232 serial control, local/remote line hold switching, integrated auto-answer, automatic call disconnection, auto-ducking, DTMF tone recognition, a balanced mic/line input and balanced line output.
Marcus Brooke, Managing Director of Sonifex Ltd added: “We’ve sold the DHY-02 units to TV and radio studios all over the world and it’s been bought mainly because of the excellent sound quality that it provides. The DHY-03 raises the bar again on features and performance”.
Echo cancellation is possible to 127msec and distortion of other mixed signals is greatly improved. The DHY-03 is more tolerant to fluctuating line conditions and is especially suitable for dealing with calls that have a slight signal delay, for example, satellite and conference calls. The DHY-03 can recall signals from its memory buffer and allow for these delays without impairing performance.
